New Conductors Orchestra

Flutist Andrea Berger (Administrative Director) has held the positions of Administrative Director and member of the flute section of the Park Avenue Chamber Symphony (1999-2018) and the Lawyers' Orchestra (1999-2008). Also an active chamber musician, she is Secretary of the Board of The Chamber Music Conference & Composers' Forum of the East. She studies with Suzanne Gilchrest and previously studied with Patricia Spencer. A graduate of Harvard University, NYU Graduate School of Public Administration and Fordham Law School, she is a retired attorney.

Dan Dicker (President) spent 27 years trading energy futures as a member of the New York Mercantile Exchange before retiring from the floor in 2009. Currently, Dan runs an investor advisory service and has authored three books, written hundreds of columns and has appeared on dozens of network broadcasts on energy and related economic issues. In his spare time, Dan enjoys touring the US in his small plane and on his motorcycle (not at the same time!) and of course, playing the trombone.

Melissa Eisenstat (Former Chair) is a lifelong cellist and a budding jazz pianist. She spent most of her career in Silicon Valley at Apple Computer and on Wall Street at CIBC Oppenheimer. She is a Trustee and former board president of New York Youth Symphony, of which she is an alumna. Her corporate experience and musical training have made her a passionate advocate for the arts. Ms. Eisenstat earned a BA and an MBA/MA from the University of Pennsylvania.

Audrey Edelstein (Web Designer) is a conductor, bassoonist, and vocalist. Recent highlights include guest conducting the Oratorio Society of Queens and the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of New York. Audrey's diverse repertoire spans from symphonies to L'Histoire du Soldat to Damn Yankees. Audrey teaches voice, piano, and conducting, and freelances in a variety of places and spaces. She is a graduate of Swarthmore College and the Aaron Copland School of Music (Queens College, CUNY.) Audrey also designs websites for solo creatives and organizations.

Bass trombonist Alan S. Futerfas (Board Chair) began playing trombone professionally at 16 years of age and is a graduate of The Juilliard School. He was a member of a professional brass quintet and was the bass trombonist of the Lawyers' Orchestra and the Park Avenue Chamber Symphony for twenty years. A graduate of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, he is a practicing lawyer in New York City

Caroline Greenberg, a member of the French Horn section, has been an active proponent of music— from performing with friends, playing in orchestras, attending performances, and more since her parents first introduced it at a young age. Growing up on Long Island allowed Caroline access to some of the best musicians in the word to garner a lifelong love of music. Providing easy access to music is a passion for her, and being a founding member of the New Conductors Orchestra is an exciting way to do just that.

Sam Price is founder and CEO of BetterMusic.store and a trombone teaching artist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He has performed professionally with the Phoenix Symphony, Bern Symphony, Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra, and the Zurich Opera. In his free time he likes to kick it with his musician friends, watch concerts, and volunteer with the Anti-Defamation League.

Nathalie Wang was born in Shanghai, China. She has studied piano, electric organ, and pipe organ at the Royal Academy of Music in London and The Juilliard School of Music in New York City. Nathalie is comfortable in opera, having been assistant conductor, vocal coach, and rehearsal pianist at locations around the US and Europe. She rounds out her time by serving as a church organist in dozens of churches around the Tri-State area, performing piano accompaniment and vocal coaching for opera singers, and playing piano for private parties around the city.
